• 2.0 out of 5 stars from Kindle Customer -- Sinking ship : The entire purpose of Gamelit is to have a strict rigid system for the characters and readers to know what can happen and think of ways to circumvent it. That is a major problem with this book series because the rules and system change every book. It's to the piont now where entire books in this series are now worthless because all the progress the MC made to get those benefits are being taken away in the constant changes. The newest changes to the system make book 2, 3, and 4 completely irrelevant to the story now and are essentially just long pointless side stories with minimal benefits. The new system gives minimal insensitive to do anything other than stay home a craft so I see the story turning more into a slice of life story more focused on crafting and everyday life in this system. Everything you liked about books 1 - 5 will not be present going forward (unless he completely changes the system AGAIN) I recomend jumping ship now. I really enjoyed the slightly slower first half of the story with the base and community building. There were different kinds of conflicts but good stuff. It was genuinely good to see some older characters and see how they fared since the MC last saw them. Though the 1st half of the story had less action, there is still some good fights and in particular I liked the use of the training room. We get time for discussions, plans and characters. Then later on the usual fun of exploring, destroying and bedding the unknown comes back into play. Even for just a brief vacation, it was nice to see the other characters move on and grow and then into the further parts of the book made me grin and keep reading.
